Spinoff from Mariner

Tungsten Disulfide WS2 was first used in later Mariner missions as a dry film lubricant which offered exceptional lubrication quality for reduced friction and extended wear-life of mating parts in harsh interplanetary environments. The coating instantly bonds to metal or resin substrates with a 20 millionth of an inch thickness.

NanoSlick DT-100 Dry Lubricant is produced with Pure 99.9% Tungsten Disulfide, and unmatched in its exceptional ability to withstand even the most extreme conditions such as saltwater corrosion, rust, tremendous temperature ranges of -350° F to +1000° F, and extreme pressures up to 300,000psi. Composed of the finest ingredients available, NanoSlick Lubricants combine a high viscosity synthetic base with tungsten disulfide, rust and corrosion inhibitors.

Did you know that Tungsten Disulfide is rated far superior than Titanium, Teflon, Graphite and MolyB lubricants!

Today, NanoSlick Lubricants are used by thousands of individuals and companies in over 60 different countries, and almost every state in the U.S. We have many retail stores that carry NanoSlick Lubricants as well as several International Dealers located in Greece, Italy, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and other countries.

NanoSlick Lubricants adhere to any substrate surface through a molecular/mechanical interlock and takes on the characteristic of the substrate regardless of whether it is ferrous, non-ferrous, a composite, carbide, or plastic! Standard lubricants on the market are simply not capable of doing this! NanoSlick Lubricants also have a natural affinity for lubricants which results in oil-retention properties even in “wet” applications (It will help keep oil and grease where it should be!).

Did you know that a Formula 3000 Racing Team owes its success to using Tungsten Disulfide Dry lubricants!

NanoSlick Lubricants are ideal for use anywhere the most extreme temperatures and pressures demand a superior grease that can withstand extreme conditions. NanoSlick Lubricants have ideal properties for bearing grease application and is useful for both high load and impact load applications. This is the case because of its strong resistance to abrasion and its impressive extreme pressure properties.

NanoSlick Lubricants have exceptional extreme pressure (EP) properties and high load bearing properties due to the tungsten disulfide particles it contains (tungsten disulfide has a high load bearing property of 300,000 psi). Tungsten disulfide, one the most lubricious materials one the planet, can offer a dry lubricity that no other substance can match and is the superior disulfide for use in high temperature and high pressure applications. Tungsten disulfide grease can be used in place of molybdenum disulfide grease (sometimes referred to as moly disulfide grease) and graphite grease, to the betterment of the operation. Molybdenum and tungsten come from the same chemical family and have been around equally long, and although molybdenum has traditionally been the more popular choice (due to easy availability and previous lower cost), its rising cost has put it in a comparable price range with tungsten. It is now more economically feasible to use tungsten disulfide, which is a superior disulfide as it is both heavier and more stable than molybdenum.

NanoSlick Lubricants are highly resistant to rust, water, and humidity in the environment and it offers exceptional mechanical stability under high shear. With an application temperature range of -4°F (-20°C) to 1472°F (800°C), NanoSlick™ Lubricants are equipped to take on the most extreme temperature conditions. NanoSlick Lubricants also have a very high dropping point, which is above 608°F (320°C). Its high dropping point means that this tungsten disulfide lubricant won’t solidify at higher temperatures. Not only do NanoSlick Lubricants have a very high dropping point, it also has the lowest coefficient of friction when compared to any other high temperature lubricants.

The applications are unlimited in use; reels, guns, motors, precision gears, cutting tools, chain saws, boat trailers, hinges, practically any material surface that slides, rolls, or rotates. Fishing Reels, Guns, Ammunition, Bearings (Linear, Ball, Roller, etc.), Shafts, Marine parts, Cutting Tools, Blades, Slitters, Knives, Mold release, Precision Gears, Chains, Machinery components and many other areas.

• Exhibits exceptional stability and will not harden or set up in storage or use.
• Stays in place during use for extended periods without softening or flowing, and retains its consistency even at high temperatures.
• Does not bleed, and tightly holds the oil within the grease structure, even at high temperatures.
• Provides these load carrying capabilities without the use of heavy metals or chlorinated extreme pressure additives which can be toxic to the environment.

ADDITIONAL TUNGSTEN DISULFIDE INFORMATION

Widely used in the racing industry and secondary automobile product market, NanoSlick Lubricants WS2 offers an extremely low coefficient of friction (0.030 dynamic) significantly improves lubricity characteristics and reduces wear on most engine parts. It has been successfully utilized for rack and pinion gears, gear box components, pistons, cam shafts and transmission components.

In a recent study by Chen Shi, Da-heng Mao and Hao Feng, entitled “Preparation of tungsten disulfide motor oil and its tribological characteristics”, The following was discovered: Through using mineral oil and synthetic oil to deploy the semi-synthesis base oil, modifying the surfaces of ultra-fine tungsten disulfide grains by surface chemical embellishment and adsorption embellishment to make them suspended steadily in the base oil as solid lubricating additive, and adding some function additives, the tungsten disulfide motor oil was prepared. The tribological characteristics of this kind motor oil and the well-known motor oils in our country and overseas were studied. The results show that the oil film strength of this kind of motor oil is respectively 1.06 and 1.38 times of that of shell helix ultra motor oil and great wall motor oil, and its sintering load is 1.75 and 2.33 times of that of them, and when tested under 392 N, 1 450 r/min and 30 min, the friction coefficients of friction pairs lubricated by the tungsten disulfide motor oil decrease with the increase of time, meanwhile, the diameter of worn spot is small, and the surface of worn spot is smooth, and no obvious furrows appear. The experiments indicate that the tungsten disulfide motor oil has the better anti-wear, anti-friction and extreme pressure properties than the well-known motor oils.

NanoSlick Lubricants in Industrial Environments

Industrial Manufacturers, Mining Companies, Lumber Companies, Engine and Motor Companies, come to us to provide them with the best grade lubricants for their equipment, from the U.S., to Egypt, Australia, Europe, they all demand quality and performance and NanoSlick Lubricants deliver each and every time! It’s important to protect your equipment, from a few hundred dollars to million dollar equipment, NanoSlick Lubricants are trusted to keep it operating smoothly, with lower maintenance, and at a lower cost.

It is widely believed that extreme conditions are uncommon; however nearly every manufacturing plant has at least one application in which the operating conditions could be characterized as extreme from a lubrication perspective. Common extremes could include high and low shaft speeds, high and low temperatures, high pressures, concentrated atmospheric and process contaminants, and inaccessibility.

Mineral oil-based fluid lubricants (oil and grease materials) function properly where the designed surface areas and shaft speeds allow for the effective formation of an oil film, as long as the machine operating temperature envelope falls between -20C and 100C (-4F to 212F). The only absolute limits that apply for fluid lubricants, regardless of the base oil type, are conditions that cause a change in the state of the fluid that prohibits fluid film formation. Fortunately, that is not the end of the story.

Various materials that protect interacting surfaces after the fluid film is lost have been either discovered or created. These materials may be applied to a surface in the form of an additive to a fluid lubricant, or in a pure form, and may also be added or alloyed into the surface when the component is being manufactured.
